Here is June all cozy in bed with her new Christmas pillowcase on her pillow from her Grandma Balholm! We had just read some Christmas stories, & told her that once she was asleep Santa would come!!

June's first steps!!

Here is a video of some of June's very first steps! We have been working on it for a while, but she was always too nervous to let go of our hands. But, today she surprised us when she let go of the couch & took a couple of steps to Aaron all on her own! I ran & got the camera & got this video after just a few minutes after that (Oh, & sorry about the beginning of the video, I had to hide the camera from her):

First Time Playing in the Snow!

We finally had a really good snow here, so we all went outside to enjoy it! We bundled June up in an, "I can't put my arms down," snow suit & headed outside. June was in awe. She had watched the snow fall all day from the windows, & literally ate up the new scenery around her! She was all smiles and giggles unless she laid back & the snow fell on her face (she was not crazy about that)! Overall, we all a lot of fun outside. Aaron, spent the most time outside of all of us riding his 4 wheeler, & shoveling our driveway & sidewalks. The first real snow is always very exciting!

Pregnancy Update

So, now we know some more details about the pregnancy, & I can finally update the blog! I am 8 weeks along, & will be due July 12th! We saw the heartbeat yesterday, which was SO cool! I'm just amazed that this little baby which has only been around for a few short weeks already has a beating heart! I love reading my pregnancy books & finding out what is happening with the development of the baby. I have been doing a lot of reading, resting, & sleeping because "morning" sickness kicked in about 2 weeks ago! June is taking having a sick Mommy very well, & gets to see a lot more of her Dad (who is my hero). Aaron has done so much for me & June lately (yes, more than usual). He takes such good care of us & the house in addition to going to work! Thank you SO much lovie!

A fun mess

June had a pretty boring day a few days ago. She ran errands, helped clean up the house, ect... So, Aaron & I decided that after dinner we'd let her do something that she thinks is really fun: GETTING MESSY!


We poured some of her dry rice cereal on her tray, added some water & let her mix, squish, splatter, & eat it! Her enjoyment & laughter was SO worth the mess!




Oh, & part way through the playing she decided she wanted to share with Mom & Dad (she thinks sharing is fun as log as she gets back whatever she gives us right away)! Here she is offering us some. How could we ever refuse this?

A Bun in the Oven!

Aaron & I found out about a week ago that We're going to have another baby!! We're not sure how far along I am yet, but I think I'm five(ish) weeks along. We'll know all of the details of "dates" after our doctor apt. this coming Monday. I was going to wait a bit to announce the pregnancy, but I am so excited, & I couldn't wait any longer! And, just so everyone knows:

1. Yes, this was planned (we wanted our kids to be close in age).

2. Nope, June doesn't care one bit (but she may when she understands)!

3. As of right now I'm still feeling ok (aka: no morning sickness, yet). Although, I am extremely tired.

4. Because we like to plan (way) ahead, we already have names picked out for a boy & a girl. But, we will unveil those once we find out what we're having!

5. We are very, very, very, VERY EXCITED!!

Fall Festival!

Here we are before we went to our ward's Fall Festival! June & I were both Kitties, & Aaron was a scary dentist (drill & all)! It was a lot of fun!

There were so many things going on the week leading up to Halloween that we are too tired to do anything tonight (Halloween Night). We'll probably just watch a movie, hand out candy, & go to bed early. Yep, being parents DOES change everything (so worth it)!!

Boo at the Zoo!!!

Every year the Idaho Falls zoo has the Boo at the Zoo for Halloween! It was SO cool! You walk through the zoo (which was decorated with jack-o-lanterns, lots of lights, & other scary Halloween decor) & trick or treat, play games, & look at the animals! It was so busy & crowded there, but that made it MORE fun because we got to see all of the cool & scary costumes!

Pumpkin Carving!

A couple of nights ago we had fun carving our pumpkins! June REALLY liked digging out (& playing with) the inside of her pumpkin! She kept looking at us as if she was making sure that it was really ok. We did have to constantly stop her from eating the seeds, though!


After the messy part was over we carved one pumpkin to look like June (the first pumpkin). It has all the same teeth she does right now. The other pumpkin is meant to be a vampire, because we are ALL so excited to see Twilight (Ok, maybe just ME)! We have one more pumpkin that Aaron has some special plans for. We'll post pictures of that as soon as we have them...

Hay Baby!

last weekend we went to a pumpkin patch to get our pumpkins for Halloween. June loved it there! She picked out her pumpkin, & then sat on top of it! But, the real fun began when we entered the hay maze. June sat herself down & played in the hay for a good 20 minutes! She probably would have been happy playing in it for an hour!

A pretty outfit meant for Aaron...

When Aaron's mom, Mary Ann, was pregnant w/ Aaron she received this cute little girly outfit. Sadly, she never got to use this outfit as she had all boys. However, since I had a girl I inherited this darling little outfit that was meant to be worn by Aaron! Here is June modeling it:

Splash! Splash! Splash!

Here is June & I at her first swimming class. It was SO much fun for all involved! I got to be in the pool with her & Aaron was our wonderful camera man!

While we were waiting for our class to start she was yelling & trying to leap out of my arms to get in the pool. When we finally got in she started splashing & splashing, & splashing, & kept on splashing throughout the WHOLE class! We learned to kick, float on our backs, splash (June excelled), played some games, sang songs, & got to go under water! It's a great class & June loved every minute of it. Next time Aaron gets to go in the water with her & experience June's splashing up close!

This is Aaron, I've been "tagged" to publicize my oddities or strange habits. They did limit it to six, which really doesn't do the wierdness that is my life justice. Here they are:

1. I can't sneeze if someone is distracting me (talking to me, sometimes even looking at me, etc).

2. I have to make sure that I fill the car up to the exact same point each time so that I can correctly calculate the mileage.

3. I take 3 showers a day, but the OCD nature of this is debateable (shower 1 is in the morning to wake up and get clean, shower 2 is after work when I'm covered in nasty blood and saliva aerosols, shower 3 is after helping June bathe as she constantly pees in the tub)

4. I don't drink milk.

5. I have to tell/show my wife that I love her most everyday.

6. I compulsively finish other peoples sentences if I feel they are talking to slow. So, if I've ever finished one of your sentences, you are the exception and I obviously couldn't mean you.

Ok, I was tagged by Nickie to confess 6 quirks about myself. This will be interesting...

1. When I put my cups into the cupboard their handles have to all face the same direction.

2. I very rarely eat meat that is not prepared by myself.

3. I use a handheld vacuum to clean up crumbs from my counters & table (got that idea from the movie Mr.Mom).

4. I have a crush on David Bowie.

5. One of the many nicknames I have for June is Smiley Joe, & I have no idea where it came from.

6. I have changed my living room curtains 6 times in the last year (& Aaron is very patient).

Salt Lake City!

Last weekend we took a trip to Salt Lake City. It was great to see some of Aaron's family, & June had a BLAST with them! Here are some pics of June playing with with her Aunties Julia & Nicole. Then there are some fun pics of her dancing with her Nana Strong!
